Here’s more information about the Avaline Music Festival. We look forward to seeing you and hope this will let you know everything you need to have a great time. We have set up a Yahoo! This is a free event, please join us and ensure it’s a great success. Donations are gratefully accepted and will go 100% to support local education, especially music programs. The location is on our family ranch near King City, CA (on 101). We are 20 miles east of King City in the Diablo Mountains. The latitude & longitude are: 36.2859N, -120.8575W

Plan to gas & stock up in either King City or Coalinga, it’s the last civilization for a few days!

Directions to Avaline Ranch from King City (from the north / 101 routes):

From 101, take 1st St. North, make the 1st Right on Lonoak Rd and follow to the end @ Hwy 25. Turn Left (north) & follow about 2 miles. Make the 1st right on Lewis Creek Rd. (look for balloons). See below for directions from Lewis Creed Rd on in.

Directions to Avaline Ranch from Los Angeles (from the south / I-5 routes):

Take I-5 North to Coalinga. Exit Jayne Ave. and head west about 10 miles into town. Fuel and stock up, it’s your last chance for 100 miles round trip! Head west on 198 - Elm Ave. out of town. Follow over the mountains and down the other side about 30 miles. Turn right on Hwy 25 - Peachtree Rd - Airline Hwy. It’s right at the bottom of the hill! Follow 25 north about 12 miles & turn Right Lewis Creek Rd. Look for the balloons!

From Lewis Creed Rd:

Once on Lewis Creek Rd., drive carefully about 5 miles to the site. There is a narrow bridge which may be difficult for large vehicles. The creek crossing is usually OK so use your judgment and just head straight through the creek. When you see the Avaline Ranch sign, you’ll have another mile to go.

Special notes for the weekend:

Site opens Thursday at 5:00PM. Live music is scheduled for Saturday & Sunday evening. Please plan to camp or RV for the weekend. Bring hiking shoes, sun shade & comfy clothes. Bring chairs or blankets for music watching. There will be water taps for you to fill bottles & jugs and potties & showers for your convenience.

We will host a buffet dinner on Sunday. Bring your own food for the rest of the weekend. We can have a common fire pit but cooking on open fire is limited due to conditions. Please plan accordingly including having your own table & chairs.

Lots of activities are planned for the days including 4x4 trips up the mountain. Bring outdoor games like horseshoes, badminton, ..? If you like model rockets, so do we & a launch pad is available. We expect a busy weekend so for everyone’s comfort & safety, please refrain from using firearms, dirtbikes or ATVs. The roads are steep & narrow, please keep speeds down.

This is an outdoor event with limited access and amenities. To make your stay pleasant, please pack what you need and plan on sticking around. We plan to have ice delivered Sunday morning to refresh your coolers. Cell phone service is limited in the area so plan to leave the outside world behind, be safe, relax & enjoy.
